Hello All,
I will be hosting a meet and greet for Delegates, Alternates, and others who are involved in this years process. It will be at my residence on Friday May 16th at 6PM
104 W. 17th Ave
Spokane Wa 99203
I want to make sure we give each State Delegate who is running for a National Spot 3 minutes to speak on why they should be a national delegate. Then we can have open discussion on issues that we will have on the State Platform in June.
If you are unable to attend we would like your feedback. Please add comments on to the blog or email me so I can bring those to attention.
If you are attending please mention on the blog along with your name so I can plan the meeting and be set for the number of people. You could also email me.
Thanks again for all the emails.

War Tracker
Hello all
I added a tracker of the cost of the war in Iraq. Look what we could be doing in our country if we were not there. It is amazing!
We are less than 2 weeks to the election for National Delegates. It looks like we have great Obama Delegates that I have met out there. I have also received some great emails from so many people who want to be heard on the State and National level. So Far I have received over 2000 emails from people. I was not able to respond to all of them. Some were not looking for a response but just forwarded information on what there concerns are. I thank you for your information and to all of you for your point of view. I am getting a good feel for what your concerns are and will work hard to represent you well. I am also still doing my homework on subjects that are of interest to you. I am working with a gentleman who is well informed on nuclear waist storage and use for energy. Please email or blog any information that you have.
I will give more details in the coming days so please check every day until May 17Th.
Thanks as always for your time and support for Barack Obama,
Brad Thompson

Support for National Delegate: Also another to help!
Hello All,
Thanks for all the emails I have been receiving. Your feedback has been great. I heard from a Iraq Marine Veteran who had his 4 year term extended to almost 5 years. Had 2 deployments and one stint in Kuwait to help support new troops on there way to Iraq. He had a daughter who he only saw for a few months in her first 3 years on this earth. He was a gunner and said he just doesn't talk about the things that he did. It's better to not talk about it. He had great offers to sign for another 4 years but said he just can't because he doesn't know why we are there anymore. WOW! It was powerful.
I attached a letter from Rachel Shierling and thought you might like to read it. Seeing she is running for a national delegate also and if you have questions for her, please contact me and I will forward to her. Wanted to thank her for her support!
Hi Brad,
Thank you for writing- What an exciting year we're participating in! I too am a State Delegate also working to become a national delegate. Unfortunately I don't have a blog- what a great idea and wonderful way to get support. :) I've recently been elected to the Vice Chair of Events position with the Spokane County Democratic Party and I am the PCO for 3125. You certainly have my support for National and I have forwarded your information widely. I hope to be able to meet you on May 17th and will certainly see you at the State Convention.
Best regards,
Rachel M. Shierling

Keep the contacts coming and lets make a difference!!

Democratic Legacy Dinner April 12th
I want to talk about the Legacy dinner but first I want to thank everyone for the emails, calls, and Blogs that I have received so far. It is great to see the excitement of the people of Washington and I am honored that you chose to contact me. But, I really do need more information from all of you. I need to know what your concerns are so please continue to leave notes on the blog or by email. To represent you best. I need to know where you stand.
Now, the Legacy Dinner was wonderful and had great speakers. Governor Chris Gregoire, Senator Lisa Brown, Our hard working Chair Kristine Reeves, Senator Chris Marr, Reverend Happy Watkins, and many Award Winners thru the night. To feel the energy in the room was exciting and to know that all these people are here for us, to make Washington a better place for all our families.
I also met people at this dinner that are good, hard working people who are ready for change. Who spoke to me about the War and what we need to do to bring an end to it. The work we need to continue to do for Human rights and a Representative for the Sheet Metal Workers Union who is excited about the opportunity that we have in the coming years. I want to thank them for there time and look forward to taking there words forward for them.
I will be stopping at the caucus on April 19th in the afternoon and look forward to talking with other delegates and will share the feedback that I get with you.
Last thing that I wanted to share is a call for service. Even though our Presidential caucus is over, we still have work to do for Barack Obama. We need you to do some work for him. If you sign up on Barack Obama's website you can sign up to call North Carolina and other future states to help get people out to vote and to help register voters. It is easy to log on and you can do this right from home! We also have a primary in the state to our south Oregon. Take a road trip and help register voters. You can also find info on Obama's website. Please contact me for information on how to do this.
Thanks again for your time and again I look forward to being your voice at the National Convention if you will let me.

3rd Legislative District on April 5th 2008
I wanted to thank all of you that voted for me this last weekend. It was exciting talking with people about the future and about Barack Obama. It is great to see how informed everyone is and feel the energy of the Democratic Party in Spokane. I enjoyed talking to people about what there concerns are and I look forward to taking there interests to the District Caucus on May 17th and the State Convention on June 14th.
I wanted to share one of my personal stories.
I was born in raised in a small town 30 minutes north of Green Bay Wisconsin. I am one of 6 children. My father worked at Fort Howard Paper Mill and my Mother ran a home business to make ends meet. I was taught hard work and integrity and you are only as good as your name. I was lucky. I know that money was tight but us kids never felt it. My Dad retired after 27 years and after 5 years of retirment he went back to work to pay for health insurance for my Mother and himself. He had to fight to get the Social Security he contributed to for so many years.
I think my parents story is like many other parents stories. I now have a family of own and am proud to contribute to Social Security and support a change to socialized health care. We need to take care of the people who made this Nation Great.
At the caucus I spoke with many people about the the War in Iraq, our economy, and bringing jobs back to America. We have a lot of work to do and I know Barack Obama is the Right person to get the Job done.
Please contact me about what your concerns are. Lets make this change together.
Thanks for your time,
Brad Thompson
